Gladys McDougall

McDOUGALL, Gladys Lorainne – 1928-2017
The family announces with great sorrow the passing of their beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Gladys McDougall, at the age of 89 years on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, surrounded by family. Born on June 16, 1928, Kirkland Lake, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late John Renfree and the late Loretta “Lotti” (née Kennedy). Loving and devoted wife of the late Gordon McDougall for 58 years. Dedicated mother of Baby Boy (predeceased), Marilyn of Milton, Danny (Joyce) of Cranbrook, BC, Brian of Kirkland Lake, Judy of Mississauga, Gary (Kelly) of Thunder Bay and Lori Baker (Rod) of Sudbury. She was a beloved sister of the late Frances Lippett (Irvine Lippett, also deceased) of St. Catherines, ON. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Jennifer (Rob), Alicia (Rob), Kara (Emmett), Kyle (Caleigh), Katie, Liann (Jeremiah), Robyn (Andrew), Rory (Danielle), Erin (Steve), Darcy, Megan, and Great Grandchildren Piper, Willow, Ella, Hailey, Lilly, Isla, Reagan, Connor, Arya, Hendrick, Juliette, Cooper, Charlie, Kaiden and her many in-laws and nieces and nephews.
Gladys thoroughly enjoyed her bowling days at the Uptown Bowl, and faithfully attended Friday evening excursions and countless social events at the Legion, Branch 87 sharing stories and laughter with the Preston’s. She will be sadly missed by her best friend Alice McKnight who jubilantly partook in many events with Gladys. Gladys devotedly served the community as a retail sales clerk at Sears for over 25 years. She was a proud mother of seven children cherishing family gatherings with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her tireless and unselfish devotion to her family was always appreciated and will be sorely missed by those closer to her.
Sincere thank you to the 4th floor nursing staff at the KDH, the care providers from the VON, CCAC and Closing the Gap.

To the McDougall clan, I am sure your dad was waiting with open arms for your mom when she reached heaven. They will continue their wonderful walks together with out any ailments. All that went before her will so happy to see her, many have waited a long time. She will live on in all of you. Some of you have her wonderful laugh, and I am sure you all have her loving and generous heart. Sending you all my love and prayers!
