Brennan Goulding

Brennan Franklyn Goulding passed away on July 21, 2019, at the young age of 17, as a result of an accident when hiking with his friends.
Brennan couldn’t wait to start his life, entering this world on June 15th, 2002 in Kirkland Lake, 2 months before his due date. He was a fighter and strong-willed from the very start.
He was the son of Rod and Deanne (née Patey) Goulding, who thought the absolute world of him. He attended KLDCS and was to begin grade 12 this coming fall. Brennan was extraordinarily intelligent and was working hard to get the grades he needed to attend university.
Brennan was a member of the Kirkland Lake Blue Devils hockey team, where he was the star of the dressing room. He enjoyed skateboarding, camping, and hanging out with his friends. Brennan’s friends were the centre of his world. He was unendingly kind, as seen by the large number of friends who frequented his family home at 3 McPhee. He loved spending time with his family and was surrounded by family members in Kirkland Lake as well as Newfoundland & Labrador, where he spent many holidays and family vacations.
He was a leader and a joker. Brennan was loved fiercely by all who were lucky enough to have known him.
He will forever be remembered by the legacy he leaves behind and the cherished memories he leaves in the hearts of his parents Deanne and Rod, maternal grandparents Doris and Jerry Patey and paternal grandparents late Norma and Frank Goulding. His aunts and uncles Dwayne and Deanne (daughter Lauren), Wanda and late Gord (children Kelly, Tyler, Ashley), and Paula and Warren (children Amanda and Todd). Brennan was also blessed with an extensive family of distant Aunts, Uncles and Cousins who loved him dearly.
Because of the great distance between his home in Kirkland Lake and his relatives in Newfoundland & Labrador, Brennan had a close and strong KL family made up the Clarkes, the Strachans and the Croxalls who loved him and will continue to love him forever.

Donations:
As a tribute to his academic achievements and his fierce love of his friends, the family would like donations to be made to a scholarship fund that will be set up in his name.
Please make the cheque payable as shown below.
Rod and Deanne Goulding
Please include “The Brennan Goulding Scholarship Fund” on the memo line.

“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be”

I’m so very sorry to hear this news. I wish that there was something I could say to make all this go away. But there’s not. I can’t begin to comprehend what you are going through. The thing is… as a parent, I know exactly how much you love him. That love is the source of your hurting right now… one day it will be the source of your salvation. Thinking of you…

    Rod , Deanne and family,

Please accept condolences on behalf of my family concerning the loss of your dear son. It is never easy to loose any family member but the loss of a child is indeed the most difficult of all. Stay strong and hold each other close at this most difficult of times. Always remember you are surrounded by family and friends who will be there to help and support you.

Our hearts are heavy with sadness over the journey you are now thrown into. We are deeply sorry for your loss of your beloved Son, Brennan. There will never be a good enough reason for this to have happened. There is never an acceptable time to loose your child. No amount of time is long enough to be with our babies. Part of you is with them, and part of them is with you, always, no mater where they or you are in the moment. Carry his love with you in your heart or it will surely close to life itself. Always remember the moments that you shared and the energy that he had for life. When you need to, just stop what you are doing and take the time you need to think of him. Know that you are both better for the time that you had together. He is in God’s hands now, and God will carry him home where he will be safe.
