HENDRIX, Darrell Louis
The family announces with heavy hearts the unexpected passing of Darrell Louis Hendrix at the age of 59 on Friday November 22, 2019. Darrell passed away peacefully in his home after a short battle with cancer. Darrell was born on October 10, 1960 in Kirkland Lake, ON and raised in Matachewan, ON. Darrell is survived by his mother Vina Landry of Matachewan First Nation and predeceased by his father Arthur Hendrix and his dad Leo Landry. Darrell is also predeceased by his grandparents James and Jeanne Batisse and Sylivo and Agnes Landry, and sister in law Francine Landry. He will be truly missed by his precious daughter Lisa Hendrix and her mother Connie Villneff. Survived by his siblings: Jean (Jack) Lemieux, Elenore Hendrix (Claude Brisson), Dale Hendrix (Guylaine Plourde), Cynthia Hendrix, Leo Landry (Robert Findley), Sandra Roy (late Chris Burkholder), Darren (Donna) Landry, Deana Landry (Bill Simpson), Darcy Landry, and Elaine (Mike) Daley. He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nephew and his godchildren, Cynthia Hendrix, Dustin Roy, and Andrew George Jr.
Darrell was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. He was caring and kind; a loving friend that always had a helping hand for those in need. When Darrell was not hunting or spending time with family, he enjoyed long drives in the bush and a good game of darts. In Darrell’s early years he worked in the forestry and mining industries. His familiar smile will be truly missed on Government Road.
