It is with heavy hearts that the family of John David Rutherford regret to inform of his peaceful passing at his home surrounded by his precious family on December 28, 2020 at the age of 71.
John is survived by his loving wife Joan Rutherford of 50 years. Also left to mourn are his children. He will be greatly missed by his only grandson, Jayden. His brothers’ Bob(Joan) Rutherford and Terry Rutherford, along with many nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his sister Sharon, and his granddaughters Brieanna and Serenety.
John dedicated many years ensuring the safety and security of others through 28 years of service in the Royal Canadian Airforce, in which he completed 3 peacekeeping missions, and spent 15 of those years in the SIU, followed by security enforcement until his retirement.
John loved nothing more in his life than his wife and his girls. He would do all that he could to put smiles on their faces.
The family would like to thank all whose life he has touched through the years. He was always up for a laugh, and loved his dirty jokes with the boys. He enjoyed his downtime, and stayed close to home. He was proud right up until the very end.
At this time the family is upholding John’s wishes and cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
