COOPER, Murray – It is with great sadness that the family of Murray Cooper announces his peaceful passing, at the age of 85 years, surrounded by his family at the Kirkland & District Hospital.
He was predeceased by his parents Ethel (nee Ennis) and Harry Cooper, and his brother Wayne (Louise) Cooper.
Murray will be remembered by his loving wife of 57 years, Janet (nee Wentworth) Cooper, proud daughters Sherri (Frank) Cooper and Ann (Dan) Cooper and cherished grand-daughter Teaghan all of London, ON, and loved sister Shirley (Charles) Robbins and nephew David Robbins of North Bay, ON.
Murray was a proud, life-long Kirkland Laker. Following his retirement from Ontario Hydro after 35 years, he volunteered his time in the community he loved, and travelled abroad. He loved gardens, nature, old cars, cross-country skiing, bowling and the people and heritage of the North.
He was a well-liked and respected hard-working, selfless gentleman with a patient soul, great sense of humour, and fierce determination. He will be greatly missed by family, friends and neighbours alike.
He will be laid to rest in the family plot at Kirkland Lake Cemetery
